Penteract Press Newsletter February 2022
Dear friends,
We are proud to announce the publication of two new chapbooks, via our imprint Enneract Editions:
TIME AMONG THE SPHINXES by Christian Bök:
A manifesto about avant-garde poets — the lost, time travellers in our literary heritage. Also featured in this chapbook is 'Translating Translating Apollinaire (Gallifreyan)', which translates a poem by bpNichol into the imaginary, clockwork language spoken by Doctor Who. Buy it here!
&
THE NOSON SONNETS by Anthony Etherin:
A sequence of eight Shakespearean sonnets written under various additional metrical and/or alphabetical constraints. Constraints include variations on: letter count, redivider, internal rhyme scheme, palindrome, bivocalism, and aelinscape. Each sonnet is accompanied by a visual sonnet: a glyphic illustration composed of 14 lines. Buy it here!

In other news, the final episode of Series One of The Penteract Podcast aired last Wednesday: In Episode 36, Anthony interviews Clara about her visual poetry practice, as well as her use of traditional and digital media. Anthony and Clara also together discuss the future of Penteract Press and The Penteract Podcast.

Series One is done. However, Series Two is just around the corner! The first episode is already recorded and will air this Friday — stay tuned.
All episodes of Series One have now been uploaded to YouTube. Series Two will be uploaded when new episodes become available. So, if you prefer to listen on that platform, please consider subscribing to Anthony’s YouTube channel.
Moving to another podcast, we were pleased to recently hear one of our publications being talked about on Penn Jillette’s Penn’s Sunday School podcast. Penn discuses SLATE PETALS (AND OTHER WORDSCAPES) by Anthony Etherin from 39 minutes in — listen here.
In one last bit of exciting news, Penteract Press can now confirm that it will be open to submissions again from April 16th till April 30th. We’re branching out a little for this submissions window (we’re experimentalists, after all!) and, in addition to formal poetry, we’ll be looking for horror and science fiction, as well as puzzles and wordplay books. Details here.
For more things Penteract, please keep an eye on our website, PenteractPress.com, and on our Twitter page, Facebook page, and Instagram Page.
Till soon, stay safe!
Anthony and Clara
